LE POODLE

Le Poodle was raised in South Florida from the age of three. Her parents are from Puerto Rico and Haiti and thus grew up in a very diverse household involving the sciences, arts, and music. She started writing poetry at the age of six years old and had been writing on and off through adulthood. She has an artistic background in visual arts, which was her major at the art high school A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She then went off to college to study the sciences and now holds a doctorate degree. It was not until 2015 that Le Poodle decided to give in to her desire to learn guitar and dedicated months to the craft while also evolving her poetry into lyrics. She is known for finding the indie rock group, Cloud Solo, in Miami, FL.

Over the past years she has learned to play the guitar, bass, piano, and also taught herself to produce on Ableton. Music has been a way that she has been able to not only express herself, but also relate to and find community globally.

Last year was very full of growth and and opportunities for Le Poodle. She released her debut EP, Opinions From my Bedroom and played on a major stage at IIIPoints Music Festival where she opened up for La Femme and The Marias. She also composed music for two short films, one of which was shown in multiple film festivals, and a dance project that was performed live at the Perez Art Museum Miami. Finally, she learned how to DJ and booked her first DJ set with Suzi Analogue during Art Basel for a Vice party where Smino performed. She plans on getting back in the studio to write and further refine her sound and intentions as an artist as well as incorporate more visual elements. She has been booked for a solo show in London in May and is looking forward to taking her sounds abroad and connecting to new communities.
